A former 5-story brick factory building on the edge of Minersville’s central business district has been adapted for reuse as senior living apartments. This residence has 30 units designed with an age in place philosophy.   The building was built to the ASCE 24 Standards for Flood Resistant Design and Construction. The building’s second floor is LIFE Geisinger that provides daily living and health service programs for older adults. The Miners Lofts’ residents and the public are welcome to take advantage of the medical, physical therapy, counseling, personal care, entertainment and social activities offered provided by the LIFE Center. Interior amenities for the residents of the building include a fitness center, covered parking, community room with kitchen, management office, conference room, supportive services office, library and game room. The project is a certified Enterprise Green Communities building with local connections to services, energy efficient design and high air quality standards. The project was funded by PHFA PennHOMES and LIHTC.
