This project was the realization of a neighborhood improvement plan as a part of the City’s revitalization and stabilization efforts. The site was a former church, school and rectory, which had either already been demolished or were turning into blight.  Situated on a hillside and surrounded by residential and light commercial uses, there are views of the city and the valley.  The four-story building provides 35 apartments for seniors where all apartments are visitable and designed for an age-in-place philosophy.  The building is constructed into the hillside and a two-story lobby connects the second floor lobby with parking lot access and the first floor lobby with a walkable connection to the community.  Amenities for the residents include a technology center, common laundry, activity room, library, fitness room, and community room with a full kitchen.  The building was certified with Enterprise Green Communities for its advanced energy efficiency, use of zero VOC paints and sealers, water resistant materials in humid areas for quality interior environment.  The project was funded by PHFA LIHTC.
