The sister properties of South Center Street Apartments and Brookline Court Apartments are located in the heart of Bradford, McKean County and modular buildings from 1973. Between the 2 properties of 15 buildings total, 72 units of affordable housing were rehabilitated and updated. An exhaustive evaluation with matrix of the individual units allowed for strategic upgrades where most needed. The exterior finishes were updated for a modern look to coordinate with the community including replacing the siding and replacing flat roofs with trussed, insulated, and shingled roofing. Energy efficiency and amenity improvements will reduce energy costs and improve marketability. In addition to the apartment building renovations, the existing administrative building was renovated to improve accessibility, update finishes, and reorganize the office functions. A new one-story Community Building was constructed to include a 750+ sf Community Room with full kitchen to support gathering of residents and their families. Project is certified through 2020 Enterprise Green Communities for Moderate Rehab. Financed by PHFA LIHTC/PennHOMES.
