Project consists of 43-affordable senior housing apartments in a 3 story building on the site of the former Roxbury School. The site has ideal access to local amenities: Roxbury Park with its bandshell concerts, churches, commercial district, taverns and restaurants, grocery stores and bus stop. This is the first US Passive House construction in Johnstown. Project features include: super insulated building shell including 5.5” thick panelized walls with EPS, continuous R-16.712 underslab insulation, and R-84.722 blown cellulous attic insulation. Arranged on the site as features in the landscape are carved stones from the original school building to pay homage to the site’s past.  The project was financed with PHFA PennHOMES and LIHTC.
