After a century of use and a few years of vacancy, this declining building will be rehabilitated back to a vibrant use on Johnstown’s Main Street. Creative use of the first floor includes indoor and outdoor bars, meeting space, an incubator kitchen and restaurant with Take-Out entrance. The basement will contain future commercial uses anticipated to be a laundromat and podcast studio. The upper floors’ 3 apartments will be renovated into affordable housing. The exteriors will be restored with a mix of restoration of the original house and new modern façade design and materials if the existing addition. Restoration of the original porch deck will enliven the streetscape in this festival and recreation hub of the downtown.
