To preserve the charm of the town, the former Mount Union Elementary School, constructed in 1924, was adapted and reused for 44 units of Senior Housing. The original monumental entrance was elevated above the street, so the accessible entrance was created in the connector piece of the addition.  Apartments are located in the original classrooms and the community space is located in the original 2-story gymnasium.  The development was funded by LIHTC/PennHomes.
