Scheduled to be completed at the end of 2024, this park is dedicated to those who sacrificed their safety for the community, with their names and stories on pedestal signage.  The park features a bell from one of the original fire stations on a new granite pedestal.  The bridge was re-painted the same International Orange paint color as the Golden Gate Bridge, which was partially made from Johnstown’s Bethlehem Steel.  A memorial sculpture, “Aerial” (concept by Karen Welsh and executed by Center for Metal Arts), points the eye toward the bell and the Firefighter Memorial Bridge in the background.  Signage will describe the historic elements, including that this was the site of the original Truck Company No 1.  Color changing LED Lights will illuminate the site and allow for special effects.
