This parcel is one of the last pieces of available land large enough for a work-force housing development at a scale that will make a true impact on affordable housing options in Bloomsburg.  The project proposes the construction of 32 townhouse units arranged in 8 buildings.  A separate Community Building contains space for community functions and services.   The porches of the homes all face a common tree-lines street.  The parking is designed to be de-centralized and yet close to the units.  Front porches will connect the units as a community and covered rear patios with exterior storage will provide privacy.  The foundations will be Frost-Protected Shallow Foundations to reduce costs.  The project will obtain a National Green Building Standard Silver level certification and Energy Star for Homes.  The development is financed by LIHTC/PennHOMES.
