Scranton Square is a 36-unit apartment building for seniors at affordable rents, consisting of 32 one-bedroom and 4 two-bedroom units. The units will provide age-in-place and accessible features for the tenants. The common areas provide social support spaces including a spacious community room with kitchen, central laundry, library, and puzzle room. An additional activity room can be used as a yoga room for wellness. The large lobby space is great for informal socializing and for waiting for visitors. Future community gardening beds are planned for outdoor activities. The site’s location just blocks to nearby services allows residents the opportunity to walk to many locations. The project is certified to the 2020 Enterprise Green Communities program and the DOE Zero Energy Ready Homes program. The project was financed with LIHTC and PennHOMES
